10 Questions to Ask Before Booking Kids' Party Rentals

A real party styled with Mini Chairs Atelier rentals.

All kids' furniture rentals are not created equal — and the differences only show up on party day, when it's too late. Whether you book with us or anyone else, these are the ten questions that separate a seamless rental from a stressful one.

1. Is the furniture actually child-sized?

Some companies rent scaled-down adult furniture; true children's seating is proportioned for ages one to eight or so. Ask for seat heights — little legs should reach the floor.

2. What condition will the pieces arrive in?

Ask how pieces are cleaned and inspected between events. Chips, wobbles and scuffs read instantly in photos. Every piece we send out is cleaned and checked before it leaves us.

3. Is delivery, setup and pickup included — or extra?

A low rental rate can double once delivery fees appear. Get the all-in number for your zip code, and confirm setup means placed-where-you-want-it, not left-in-the-driveway.

4. What's the weather plan?

If your backyard party moves indoors, will they set up inside instead? Flexibility on party day matters more than almost anything else you're comparing.

5. How are counts adjusted?

RSVPs move. Ask until when you can add chairs and whether reducing your count reduces your total.

6. What happens if something is damaged?

Kids will be kids. Ask about the damage policy up front so a spilled juice box doesn't become a surprise invoice.

7. Do they deliver on weekends and holidays?

Many rental companies go quiet exactly when parties happen. (We're open 365 days a year for precisely this reason.)

8. Can you see real events, not just catalog photos?

Studio photos hide a lot. Ask for photos from actual recent celebrations — or check their tagged photos on Instagram, where planners and parents post the unfiltered truth.

9. Do the collections match your event's level?

A backyard playdate and an editorial first birthday need different pieces. Look for a company with clear tiers so you're not overpaying or under-delivering.

10. Do they play nicely with your other vendors?

Your planner, balloon artist and cake designer all need access and timing. A furniture partner who coordinates arrival windows around your vendor schedule — and doesn't try to sell you competing décor services — keeps the whole day smooth.
