DIY Napkin Bows for a Kids Party Table

A bow at every place setting is one of the easiest ways to make a children’s table feel finished. This version needs no sewing and can be prepared before event day.

What you’ll need

• Cloth or sturdy paper napkins
• Thin ribbon in a coordinating color
• Scissors
• Optional name card for each guest

Step 1: Fold into a long rectangle

Fold the napkin into a neat strip, keeping the edges as even as possible.

Step 2: Pinch the center

Gather the middle with your fingers until the two sides fan out like a bow.

Step 3: Wrap with ribbon

Tie a short piece of ribbon around the center. Keep the knot on the back so the front looks clean.

Step 4: Shape the loops

Gently pull the sides outward and flatten them until both halves feel balanced. Repeat the same fold for every place setting.

Step 5: Add a name card

Tuck a small personalized card under the center ribbon if you want the bow to double as a place card.

Styling note
