DIY Personalized Party Favor Tags

Personalized favor tags are one of the easiest ways to create a coordinated finish without adding clutter to the children’s table. Make them several days ahead and attach them once every favor is packed.

What you’ll need

• Heavy cardstock
• Printer or fine-tip marker
• Scissors or paper cutter
• Single-hole punch
• Narrow ribbon or soft cord
• Your finalized guest-name list

1. Pick one shape and size

Rectangles, arches and circles all work. A consistent shape makes the set feel professionally designed. Keep enough blank space around the name so it remains easy to read.

2. Use two type styles at most

Pair a script font for the guest’s name with a clean small font for “Thank you” or the party date. Print one sample before producing the entire set.

3. Cut, punch and organize

Cut every tag to the same dimensions and punch the hole in the same location. Arrange the finished tags alphabetically to make setup faster.

4. Attach them to the favors

Tie each tag with ribbon that repeats one party color. Use a loose bow rather than a permanent knot if the favor bag will need to be opened during setup.

5. Display favors away from meals

Place the favors at an exit table or dedicated station so children’s place settings stay clear. Avoid attaching favors to rented chairs with tape, wire or adhesive.
